September 9 was a truly beautiful moment of Oblate fraternity and mission at Samata Sarana.
My special and heartfelt gratitude goes to Rev. Fr. Jude Saparamadu OMI and the St. Vincent’s Home Oblate Community, together with the St. Vincent’s Home Lay Group, for their generous love and support towards our children and elders.
The second set of school uniforms given to our children was especially meaningful. Until now, many of our children had only one proper uniform. To see their happiness in receiving another set was deeply touching. What may look like a simple gift became, for them, a gift of dignity, confidence and joy.
My sincere thanks also to Rev. Fr. Shivanthavas OMI, In-charge of Laity of the Colombo Province, for his encouragement and support, and to Rev. Fr. Clement Waidyasekara OMI for his presence and fraternal support.
A special word of gratitude to the entire St. Vincent’s Home Lay Group. Their commitment, hard work and generosity made this beautiful gesture possible.
September 9 reminded us once again that our OMI mission is not only about institutions or programmes—it is about people, relationships and bringing hope to those who need it most.
Thank you, dear Fathers and dear brothers and sisters of St. Vincent’s Home, for reminding our children and elders that they are remembered, valued and loved.
