The 2026 Western Province Inter-Child Development Centre Sports Meet, organized by the Department of Probation and Childcare Services of the Western Province, was recently held at the Mahinda Rajapaksa Stadium in Diyagama.
Our children at St. Vincent’s Home emerged victorious, securing the championship title with an impressive total of 99 points.
Fr. Lahiru Lakshan, OMI, Director of Susithodaya, extended a special note of gratitude to the two instructors from the Sri Lanka Air Force who trained the children for the event. Fr. Lakshan and his staff accompanied the children to the stadium, standing by to encourage and cheer them on throughout the competition.
This provincial sporting event is held annually with the objective of encouraging and developing the athletic talents of children living in childcare homes.
